A man in his 30s has died in a road crash in Co Galway in the early hours of this morning.
He is the fourth person to be killed on Irish roads this weekend.
The man, who was travelling alone, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on the L2107 at Lavally in Tuam at around 4.30am.
His body was removed to University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
No other vehicles were involved.
The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the L2107 between 4am and 6am to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093 70840, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
Three pedestrians were also killed in separate incidents over the weekend.
A man in his 30s died after he was struck by a bus in Co Kildare yesterday afternoon, while a man in his 40s died in Co Carlow after he was struck by a car.
On Friday night, a man, aged in his 80s, was killed after he was struck by a car in Co Galway.
Earlier this week a woman in her 80s died at the scene of a single vehicle collision in Donegal.
While a woman from An Cheathrú Rua in Conamara, also in her 80s, passed away following a road collision a week ago.
So far this year 148 people have died on Irish roads.
