Three remain in custody in Cork death investigation

A man in his 20s and two teenage boys are still being questioned in connection with the death of a man in north Cork in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Barry Daly, a postal worker, was found outside his home at Rockview Terrace on the outskirts of Doneraile village.

The man and a juvenile in his late teens were arrested yesterday morning, while another juvenile, also aged in his late teens, was arrested yesterday afternoon.

All three are being held at garda stations in Co Cork.

It is understood that all three availed of a rest period last night, meaning their questioning was suspended.

A post-mortem examination on Mr Daly's body by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster was completed yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí said the results are not being released for operational reasons.

They are appealing for witnesses and want to hear from anyone who was in Doneraile between midnight Saturday and 2am Sunday morning to contact them.

They are also appealing to people with dashcam or mobile phone footage taken in the village during those times to make that footage available to the investigating team.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31 450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
