An investigation is under way into the death of a man whose body was discovered near Summerhill, Co Meath yesterday.

The discovery was made in the townland of Agher shortly before 10am.

The man's body has been removed to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

Gardaí said the outcome of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

The local coroner has also been notified.

A technical examination of the scene is taking place.
