A man in his 40s has been arrested as part of the garda investigation into the Creeslough explosion.

Ten people lost their lives following a huge explosion at a service station in the Co Donegal village in October 2022.

This is the sixth arrest in connection with the investigation.

The man was arrested for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 and is currently detained at a garda station in the Dublin region.

All those arrested so far have been questioned but later released without charge.

Gardaí said the investigation continues to be led by local gardaí in the Donegal Division.

The investigation is supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation and other agencies including the Health and Safety Authority and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities.
