The Department of Health has confirmed that 10,852 abortions were carried out in Ireland last year.
The vast majority of terminations last year - 10,711 - involved early pregnancies, while 108 of those were due to a fatal foetal abnormality.
The department was notified that 24 of the cases involved a risk to life or health, nine cases related to risk to life or health in an emergency, and 108 related to cases where the condition was likely to lead to the death of the foetus.
The highest number of terminations - 1,056 - were conducted in January last year, with 967 in May and 952 in July.
4,125 of the women involved were resident in the Dublin area, while no place of residence was recorded for 450 patients.
Eight women travelled from Northern Ireland for treatment in 2024.
