A man arrested in Co Monaghan earlier this week has been charged in connection with alleged human trafficking offences.
The man, who is in his 50s, was arrested on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation into human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and forced criminality.
He was subsequently charged and is due to appear before Monaghan District Court later this morning.
The operation on Monday was carried out by gardaí attached to the Human Trafficking Investigation and Co-Ordination Unit at the Garda National Protective Services Bureau.
