A boy has died after getting into difficulty in the water at a beach in Co Sligo this afternoon.
The young child was in the water at Lissadell beach when the incident occurred.
He was airlifted by Rescue 118 to Sligo University Hospital in a serious condition, but later passed away.
Gardaí say a file will now be prepared for the Coroner's Court.
