Firefighters and emergency services are at the scene of a fire in an apartment block in north Dublin.
The fire occurred in the Northwood area in Santry in one of the modern residential buildings.
Emergency services were alerted to a blaze there at around 7pm this evening.
Seven fire engines were dispatched to the scene which included a turntable ladder used in rescues of this kind to reach heights such as high rise apartments.

The area of Northwood was quickly cordoned off by gardaí.
A major effort got under way to extinguish the fire but also to establish if people were inside the apartment complex.
It is understood at least one person was rescued from inside the building.

Their condition is not known.
At least three ambulances are at the scene and both access points to Northwood have been closed off.
No cause for the fire is yet known.
