A number of devices were seized and searches were carried out by gardaí at nine location across Ireland as part of an international investigation into the distribution of child sexual abuse images.
The operation targeted the sharing and distribution of such images across Europe.
Operation Fever is being led by the Polish National Police force in conjunction with Europol's Joint Cybercrime Action Taskforce and 11 member states, and has resulted in 166 arrests across Europe.
Of those, 111 people were arrested for sharing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
Those arrested were found to have produced films and images, run online forums, shared or possessed child sexual abuse material, and, in many cases, were suspected of having physically abused children.
To date, more than 770 searches have been carried out across Europe, leading to the seizure of more than 594,000 files with illegal content on more than 6,000 digital media platforms.
During the search operation in Ireland, 18 devices were seized.
Investigations are under way and a number of arrests are expected to be made, gardaí have said.
