A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attacking a man who subsequently died in Dublin city centre over the weekend.
Quham Babatunde, 34, was stabbed in the early hours of last Saturday morning.
A second man in his 30s was also attacked and seriously injured. He remains in hospital.
Jeffrey Bangu, from Cardy Rock Crescent in Balbriggan in Co Dublin, was brought before the Dublin District Court this morning and charged with four offences.
He is accused of assaulting Mr Babatunde and causing him harm at Duke Lane in Dublin city centre and of assaulting another man, Adetola Adetuilehim, also causing him harm.
He is also accused of two violent disorder offences, using or threatening to use violence and producing a knife in the course of a fight in a manner to unlawfully intimidate another person.
The offences are contrary to the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act, the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act and the Criminal Justice Public Order Act.
Garda David Dolan from Pearse Street gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.

He told the court that he arrested Mr Bangu at 11.30pm last night and when he was charged just after 2am this morning at Pearse Street Garda Station, he made no reply.
Garda Dolan also told the court there would be strenuous objections to bail, but no bail application was made.
Judge Paula Murphy granted Mr Bangu free legal aid and remanded him in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court next week.
Two other men in their 20s also arrested as part of the murder investigation remain in garda and PSNI custody.
PSNI detectives have been granted an extra 36 hours to question one of the men who was arrested in Belfast yesterday as he was about to board a ferry to Liverpool.
The 23-year-old appeared at Lisburn Magistrates' Court via videolink from police custody this morning as a Detective Inspector applied for his detention to be extended.
The officer from the Major Investigation Team told the District Judge Rosie Watters that a post-mortem examination had already been conducted, and that CCTV footage and telecommunication evidence had also been seized.
She also told the court that if the 36 hours were granted, investigators intended to use the time to gather further evidence, to obtain witness statements and to conduct further interviews with the 23-year-old where the evidence will be put to him.
The senior officer confirmed to the suspect’s defence solicitor that "a number of devices have been sent for examination," adding that "it is very much a PSNI investigation, assisted by our colleagues in the gardaí".
Granting the police application, Judge Watters said it was her view that "the fact it's a murder that happened in the Republic makes it just that little bit stronger" and the detention extension was granted from 11.12am this morning.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information about the attack, including those who have mobile phone recordings or dashcam footage in the vicinity of Dawson Street and St. Stephen's Green, to contact them.
