Daire Hickey has resigned from the RTÉ Board, the broadcaster has confirmed.
In a statement this evening, RTÉ said that Mr Hickey wrote to Minister for Media Patrick O'Donovan to notify him of his resignation.
Mr Hickey has served as a member of the RTÉ Board since July 2021.
On behalf of the board, Chair Terence O’Rourke said: "Daire has been a member of the RTÉ Board through some of the most challenging years in the organisation’s history. "
Mr O'Rourke added: "He has taken the decision now to stand down to concentrate on other commitments"
He also thanked Mr Hickey for his service.
