A man has died in a road incident in Co Donegal in the early hours of this morning.

It happened at Feddyglass, Raphoe at 5.30am when a tree fell on a car during Storm Éowyn.

Gardaí say they are working with local authority and third party contractors to facilitate the removal of the man's remains from the scene.

The N14 is currently closed and diversions are in place.

The scene is being examined by divisional scenes of crime and forensic collision investigators.

Donegal Sinn Féin TD Pearse Doherty said on X that the incident at Feddyglass was "heartbreaking".

"Heartbreaking news this morning in Donegal. Such a tragedy. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased," he said.
