A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his eight-year-old daughter and the attempted murder of her mother in Co Wexford.
Malika Al Kattib died following an incident at her home in New Ross on Sunday night.
Her mother, Aisha Al Kattib, was also injured in the incident and was hospitalised with injuries that are not life-threatening.
34-year-old Mohammad Al Shaker Al Tamimi, with an address at Lower William Street in New Ross, was brought before Gorey District Court.
Detective Garda Donal Doyle gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.

Det Gda Doyle said that he arrested Mr Al Tamimi at University Hospital Waterford and charged him just after 5pm on Wednesday evening.
He was charged with Malika Al Katib’s murder and Aisha Al Katib's attempted murder.
The accused made no reply to the charges, Det Gda Doyle said.
Judge Kevin Staunton remanded Mr Al Tamimi in custody to appear before Wexford District Court via video link on Monday 9 December.
Judge Staunton also instructed for Mr Al Tamimi to be psychologically evaluated.
An Arabic interpreter translated court proceedings for Mr Al Tamimi.
