Man killed, another seriously injured in crash in Cork

A man in his 20s has been killed and another man is in a serious condition after a crash in Cecilstown in Co Cork.

The crash involving two cars occurred at approximately 5.10pm this afternoon.

The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 20s, was killed in the crash.

A second man in his 20s, the driver of the other car, has been taken to Cork University Hospital where his injuries are described as serious.

The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination.

The road will remain closed overnight and a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will be completed tomorrow.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
