Woman, 50s, seriously injured after attack by two dogs

A woman in her 50s is being treated in hospital for injuries understood to be puncture wounds after she was attacked by two dogs in south Dublin this afternoon.

The incident happened at a house in the Dún Laoghaire area just after midday.

The woman was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment after sustaining puncture wounds to her lower body.

She is understood to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The dogs, which are understood to be bulldogs, are currently in the custody of the dog warden.

It is not clear if the animals involved are on the list of restricted breeds.

Gardaí said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
