Ellea McGovern rescued an XL bully dog a number of years ago with her boyfriend and fell in love with the breed.
The pair now have six adult XL bullies and a litter of 13 puppies.
She believes they have been misrepresented and the temperament of the dogs is all in how they are treated.
However, Ms McGovern added that she is struggling to sell the puppies in her litter.

Some people that have called to inquire about the puppies have been asking about the temperament of XL bully dogs.
"People don't really want to buy them now. I'm actually struggling to get rid of them, because not a lot of people think that they're a nice dog," she said.
When asked about why she thinks the XL bully dog breed has become so popular, Ms McGovern said she thought it was because people "think that they're big and scary and they want to look tough with them".
"They think that it's a good thing like to have them vicious but they're not a vicious dog," she added.
"If you give them loads of affection, they will be as soft as anything," Ms McGovern said. She added that her dogs regularly play with her nieces and nephews.

In June, 23-year-old Nicole Morey was killed by one of her own XL bully dogs at her home in Limerick.
XL bullies are already one of the 11 dog breeds in Ireland on a 'restricted breeds' list.
However, the XL bully will become the first dog breed to be banned.
Under the new regulations proposed by Minister Humphreys today, from 1 October it will be illegal to breed, sell, re-home or import XL bully dogs.
From 1 February next year, it will be illegal to own an XL bully dog unless the owner has a Certificate of Exemption.
Owners of XL bullies who do not comply with the new regulations after that date will have their dogs seized and euthanised.
