A 41-year-old man has been before a special district court sitting in Killarney, Co Kerry, charged with murdering his brother.
Paudie O'Connor died after he was found with serious injuries at a house at An Caisleán Mór in Castleisland in the early hours of Friday morning.
His younger brother Fergus O'Connor, with an address at Scartaglen Village in Co Kerry, was charged with his murder when he was brought before Judge Joanne Carroll last night.
Detective Sergeant Ernie Henderson gave evidence of arresting Fergus O'Connor.
He said he made no reply when he was charged.
Solicitor Padraig O'Connell was assigned on free legal aid. He told Judge Carroll the allegation involved fratricide.
Fergus O'Connor was remanded in custody and will be back before the district court in Tralee next Wednesday.
