A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 26-year-old Tristan Sherry at a restaurant in Blanchardstown in Dublin on Christmas Eve.
22-year-old Michael Andrecut, with an address at Sheephill Avenue in Dublin 15 was brought before Judge Stephanie Coggans at a special court sitting at the Criminal Courts of Justice.
Detective Sergeant Mark Murphy told the court that he arrested Mr Andrecut at 11.42pm last night at Blanchardstown Garda Station and charged him at 11.47pm.

He said that the accused made no reply to the charge after he was cautioned.
Counsel for the accused, solicitor Brian Tunney made an application for free legal aid on behalf of his client.
Mr Andrecut, who wore a black Puma hoody and navy tracksuit bottoms, was remanded in custody and will appear via video link before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday 2 January.
Sherry was the gunman in an attack at Browne's Steakhouse on Main Street in Blanchardstown at around 8pm on Sunday 24 December.
A man who was shot in that attack remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Sherry was disarmed at the scene and was fatally assaulted.
