Gardaí have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of Joe and Claire Collins, who were found dead at a house in Co Clare yesterday afternoon.
The couple, who were both in their early 50s, were well known around the wider locality.
They had two adult daughters, who were not in the house in Killinaboy at the time of the deaths.
Post-mortem examinations were carried out at University Hospital Limerick by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster today.
Gardaí said the results will not be released for operational reasons and they are "continuing to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the deaths".

They added: "The primary focus for gardaí at this time is the preparation of a file for the coroner.
"Gardaí are not looking for any other individual in relation to this incident at this time."
The scene remains preserved for an examination by the Garda National Technical Bureau.
A family liaison officer has been appointed to the family.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact them in Ennis on 065 684 8100.
The bodies were found in separate locations at the house in Killinaboy after a friend of the family raised the alarm yesterday afternoon.
Mr Collins was found outside the bungalow, while Ms Collins was discovered inside the house.

A Fianna Fáil councillor has described the "huge bewilderment" and "shock" in the community.
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Cllr Joe Killeen said the areas of Corofin and Killinaboy have been affected by the "huge tragedy" in their "very tight-knit" community.
He added: "This is an awful shock and in such a tight-knit local community. There's a huge sense of bewilderment and sadness in the area at this heartbreaking news.
"There is shock that such tragedy should come to our door and our community here in north Clare."
He said the people in these communities "are rallying in support" for those affected.
Mr Collins was an avid cyclist and John Colleran of Dolmen Cycling Club in Clare said: "They are a wonderful couple and a huge part of the local community. We are devastated and numb to the core."
