The number of people living in direct provision and emergency international protection accommodation has increased by more than 25% since the beginning of the year, according to figures from the Department of Integration.
There were 19,000 people being housed by the International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) in January, while its data shows almost 24,000 were recorded on 24 September.
On that date there were 350 asylum seekers sleeping in temporary tented accommodation.
The data for the week ending 24 September shows an average of 39 arrivals into this country everyday.
The IPAS figures recorded 51 people from Russia being accommodated in September while in January, the country did not feature on the list.
The number of people being accommodated while seeking asylum from the US increased by 40%, from 25 at the start of the year to 35 recorded on 24 September.
There have been big increases in people claiming asylum from Georgia, Nigeria and Algeria amongst others.
The data shows 1,000 extra people from Algeria being housed in September compared to January.
