Around 100 RTÉ staff members and union representatives have staged a protest at the RTÉ headquarters in Dublin in the wake of the payments controversy at the broadcaster.
Demonstrations were also held at RTÉ regional offices, including in Cork, where staff members marched with placards.
The rallies were organised by the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) and were also attended by members of SIPTU and Connect, as well as RTÉ staff who are not members of any union.
New RTÉ Director General Kevin Bakhurst visited the Dublin protest and spoke to staff and union representatives.
Organisers said that the demonstrations were held to call on the Government to properly fund public service broadcasting.

"I welcome concerns about RTÉ being expressed at committee level, but that rhetoric must be matched by funding and that is going to take some courage," said Seamus Dooley, Irish Secretary of the NUJ.
SIPTU Divisional Organiser Teresa Hannick said that the central issue for RTÉ staff right now is funding.
"The staff can't suffer because of inaction by an executive board and it's time for the Government to properly fund public service broadcasting," Ms Hannick added.
General Secretary of the Connect trade union Paddy Kavanagh said it is vital to protect and maintain public service broadcasting.
"The workers who are on the ground have come out today and said enough is enough, we are here to protect our service and we are here for fairness and equity," Mr Kavanagh said.
Meanwhile, former Chair of the RTÉ Board Moya Doherty will not attend tomorrow's meeting of the Public Accounts Committee.
She says in a letter that "regrettably I am not in a position to attend the proceedings".
A number of members of RTÉ's interim leadership team are due to appear before the committee.
They include Director General Kevin Bakhurst, Acting Deputy Director General Adrian Lynch, Director of Legal Paula Mullooly, Chief Financial Officer Richard Collins, and Head of Strategy and Commercial Compliance Conor Mullen.
In addition, RTÉ Board chairperson Siún Ní Raghallaigh, and Staff representative on the Board Robert Shortt will also attend.
