A man in his 20s has died after the motorbike he was driving crashed in Co Cavan last night.
The single-vehicle crash happened on the R165 at Cornakill, Kingscourt at around 8pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to Cavan General Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The road remains closed in both directions and a forensic examination will be carried out. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, particularly anyone that might have camera footage, to come forward and contact them at Bailieboro Garda Station on 042-9694570.
