Two men in their 20s have been charged with murdering Dylan McCarthy in Co Kildare last year.
The 29-year-old from Kilmallock in Limerick died after an alleged assault in Monasterevin on 21 August 2022.
Calvin Dunne, aged 23, of Abbey View, Monasterevin, and Sean Kavanagh, aged 24, of St Mary's Lane Monasterevin, appeared before Naas District Court this morning charged with murder.
Both men are also charged with violent disorder, while Mr Kavanagh faces a third charge of assault causing harm to Eamon McCarthy.
Garda Orla Higgins from Newbridge Garda Station gave evidence of arresting Mr Kavanagh yesterday and charging him last night.
She said he made no reply when cautioned and given a copy of the charge sheets.
Det Garda Seamus Doyle gave evidence of arresting Mr Dunne and charging him with two offences in Kildare Garda Station at 8.20pm last night.
He said Mr Dunne was cautioned after each charge and remained silent in reply when charges of murder and violent disorder were read to him.

Solicitors for the accused men raised concerns about details of the events being put into the public domain today.
Judge Desmond Zaidan said these are allegations at this time and the men are presumed innocent.
Det Garda Doyle told the court that the State will allege that after midnight on 21 August there was a large altercation between two groups on the Dublin Road in Monasterevin.
He said: "During the course of the altercation Dylan McCarthy was assaulted, which resulted in his death."
Judge Zaidan said bail is an issue for the High Court as both men were charged with murder.
There was no objection to legal aid for Calvin Dunne who is unemployed. The judge asked to see a statement of means for Sean Kavanagh.
He said he would not make any ruling on whether Mr Kavanagh is entitled to legal aid until he is furnished with that statement.
Both men were remanded custody to Cloverhill Prison and will appear before Naas District Court again this Thursday.
The judge noted the attendance of Mr McCarthy's family in court this morning.
