The Air Accident Investigation Unit has completed an initial survey at the scene of a helicopter crash in Co Kildare.
Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene in Brannockstown after a light helicopter crashed in a field in the Kilcullen area this evening.
The scene is currently being held by Gardaí and the AAIU are in attendance. The AAIU is the authority for investigating air accidents in Ireland.
Earlier, the AAIU said it had been notified of "an occurrence involving a light helicopter approximately 6km south-east of Kilcullen".
Three Inspectors of Air Accidents were deployed to the site to start an investigation.
The AAIU has completed an initial survey of the accident site and will return in the morning to continue its activities, including an ongoing site survey, witness interviews, and recovery of the wreckage to the AAIU wreckage examination facility.
