An investigation is under way following the discovery of a man's body in unexplained circumstances in Co Meath this afternoon.
The body was discovered at around 4.30pm this afternoon in a wooded area by a person out walking, who then alerted the landowner and gardaí, who are treating it as suspicious. It was wrapped up in heavy material, which may be carpeting.
The State Pathologist is due to conduct a preliminary examination at the scene in the morning, before the body is removed for a post-mortem.
It is believed a forensic examination will not commence until tomorrow morning and the body remains at the scene.
Gardaí have been unable to identify the extent of the man's injuries while waiting for the arrival of the State Pathologist.
