Bodies of woman and baby boy found in Dublin

The bodies of a woman in her 40s and a baby boy have been found at a house in west Dublin.

The bodies were discovered in the Beechfield estate in Clonee, Dublin 15 shortly after 3pm today.

Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene.

The bodies have since been removed from the house, which has been preserved for a technical examination.

The local Coroner and Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and a Garda Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to liaise with the family.

Gardaí say that the outcomes of post-mortem examinations will determine the course of their investigations into both deaths.

They say the do not believe anyone else was in the house at the time and are trying to contact relatives and family members including the baby's father.
