20% of Leaving Certificate results that were appealed this year have been upgraded.
This compares with an upgrade rate of 17% in 2019, which is the last comparable year.
This year's number of upgrades represents 1% of all Leaving Certificate results awarded.
One unlucky student had one result downgraded as a result of an appeal they submitted.
As well as students looking for rechecks, the State Examinations Commission also carries out a separate quality assurance check of its own.
This year that process resulted in upgrades for 60 candidates who had not appealed their results.
Appeal outcomes are available to candidates from today via the SEC portal.
Some 8,477 candidates appealed 18,760 individual results this year, compared to 9,049 candidates and 16,965 individual results in 2019.
