A 37-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Lisa Thompson in Dublin earlier this year.
Ms Thompson, 52, was found stabbed to death at her home at Sandyhill Gardens in Ballymun on 10 May.
Brian McHugh, with an address at Cairn Court, Poppintree in Ballymun, was remanded in custody for a week.
Mr McHugh was brought by detectives from Ballymun Garda Station before the Dublin District Court this afternoon to face a charge of murder.
Ms Thompson, a mother of two young teenagers, was found dead at her home in Sandyhill Gardens in May. She had been attacked and stabbed several times.
Her children were not in the house at the time.
Detective Garda Nicola Duffy gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution today.
She told the court that Brian McHugh was charged with the murder of Lisa Thompson before this afternoon's court sitting and made no reply to the charge.
Mr McHugh sat in the dock and did not speak during the brief hearing.
There was no application for bail, as bail cannot be granted in the District Court in a murder case.
Judge Treasa Kelly noted the case was not suitable for bail and granted Mr McHugh free legal aid after his solicitor, John Quinn, pointed out that Mr McHugh had no income. He was unemployed, he had no social welfare and Mr Quinn said that Mr McHugh was on remand and currently in custody.
He is due to appear again by video link before Clover Hill District Court on 20 July.
