A body discovered on a beach in Blackpool in northern England has been confirmed as that of missing Dublin woman Bernadette Connolly.
The 45-year-old went missing from the Swords area of north Dublin on Friday 7 January.
She was last seen walking towards Donabate beach after being dropped at a nearby car park by taxi.
Her family ran a high profile campaign to help trace the missing woman, highlighting CCTV images of her last sighting.
This evening, her daughter Jade confirmed on a post on social media, that her mother's body had been discovered on a Blackpool beach.
She said the experience has been incredibly difficult and she thanked the public for the support they had given her family.
"As her daughter I truly know I did all I could in my power to find her.
"We prayed for people to light a path to bring her home and we're so grateful to have her back and can now lay her to rest," she said.
Ms Connolly said it was a tragedy that no family should have to experience and appealed for privacy.
