Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather alert for the entire country tomorrow, warning of hail, sleet and snow.
The warning is valid from 4pm tomorrow evening until 11am on Friday morning.
Scattered showers of hail, sleet and snow, and icy stretches are expected.
The showers will be most widespread in the west and north of the country where some accumulations are likely and isolated thunderstorms will occur also.
Met Éireann said this will lead to hazardous travelling conditions in some parts and it has warned that the poor weather conditions may lead to some travel disruption.
While the Met Éireann warning covers 26 counties, a Northern Ireland Status Yellow snow and ice warning has also been issued for Antrim, Armagh, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry.
The warning issued by the UK Met Office said frequent sleet, hail and snow showers may lead to some disruption to travel from 8pm tomorrow until 11am on Friday.
