A man in his 20s has died following a collision in Co Longford.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 10.40am yesterday morning after a car was found partially submerged off the road between Granard and Balinalee at Clonfin.
Gardaí believe the car left the road and struck metal fencing before entering the water.
The Garda Water Unit carried out a search of the scene and recovered the man's body from the water.
It is understood that he was travelling alone in the car.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
The man's body was removed to the Regional Hospital Mullingar.
