Minister for Further and Higher Education Simon Harris has announced the arrival of his second child, a baby boy.
In an Instagram post, Minister Harris shared a photo of himself and his newborn son Cillian.
"Today we welcomed Baby Cillian into the world," he wrote alongside the post.
"Caoimhe and baby doing great and Saoirse delighted to be a big sister and looking forward to meeting him soon.
"Thanks so much to all staff in Holles Street. I will now take paternity leave for a few weeks to get to know this new little man."
In a previous social media post, Minister Harris said that Tánaiste Leo Varadkar will be taking on his department's business during his two-week paternity leave, while Minister of State for Skills and Further Education Niall Collins will be carrying out "day-to-day work" in the department.
