The funeral has taken place today of Conor O'Brien who was shot dead in Co Meath last week.

The body of the 19-year-old was found in the driveway of a house on the Trim Road in Enfield last Friday.

Gardaí are still trying to establish a motive for the killing.

Mr O'Brien, who was from Gorey in Co Wexford, was not known to gardaí.

He had moved to Enfield for the summer and was due to start an apprenticeship in the coming weeks.

Detectives said Mr O'Brien was in contact with a family member at around 8pm on Thursday evening.

Gardaí said a number of people in the area heard a single bang on Thursday evening but it was not reported at the time.

Mr O'Brien's body was discovered the following morning.
