A man questioned in connection with the murder of Kieran Keane in Limerick in 2003 has been released without charge.
The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested yesterday under a warrant issued by a District Court Judge and was brought to Roxboro Road Garda Station in Limerick.
36-year-old Mr Keane was shot dead in Drombanna, Co Limerick in January 2003.
The man was also questioned about the attempted murder of Mr Keane's nephew Owen Tracey, who was stabbed repeatedly during the same attack.
The man has now been returned to the custody of the Irish Prison Service, gardaí said.
A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
