A motorcyclist has died and another was seriously injured following a collision involving two motorbikes and a tractor in Co Tipperary.

The collision occurred at around 5pm yesterday on the N74 at Moatequarter, Kilfeacle.

A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The second motorcyclist - a 33-year-old man - was seriously injured and is being treated at University Hospital Limerick.

The 21-year-old driver of the tractor was not hurt.

The road was closed for a technical examination but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly any motorists who were travelling on the N74 between Tipperary town and Cashel yesterday afternoon and who may have dash cam footage, to contact Tipperary Garda Station on 062 - 80670, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
