A murder investigation is under way into the death of a teenager in Co Fermanagh at the weekend.
John Paul McDonagh, an 18-year-old who had been living in the Enniskillen area for some time, died in hospital this morning.
It is understood that an altercation occurred at around 8.40pm in Coolcullen Meadow on Saturday night, involving a number of men who were brandishing weapons.
Police found the teenager and a 24-year-old man with injuries at the scene when they arrived.
It is believed that another man involved in the incident had left the scene before officers arrived.
A 19-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident and has since been released on bail, pending further inquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell expressed his condolences to the "victim's family, friends and loved ones at this very sad time.
"Our investigation continues this morning, and I am appealing to the public to help us establish exactly what happened and who was involved.
"I would also appeal to the male who is also believed to have been involved in the incident, and who had left the scene before our officers arrived, to make contact with us today and tell us what happened."
SDLP councillor Paul Blake described the fatal stabbing as tragic news for the community of Enniskillen to wake up to on this Easter Monday.
He said: "At this difficult time, it is unconscionable that anyone would seek to add extra pressure on our already stretched health service.
"The community of Enniskillen are deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic event and I know they will rally around the family and loved ones of the victim to offer support."
Councillor Blake also appealed for people to contact the PSNI or Crimestoppers to help with their investigations.
"Any information or recorded footage that people have could be invaluable to the PSNI as they investigate and seek to bring justice to this family."
