A man in his 40s who was arrested in connection with the death of a 45-year-old man who was stabbed in Co Tipperary at the weekend has been released without charge.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Alvydas Nekrosius, who was originally from eastern Europe but had been living in Carrick-on-Suir for over ten years, sustained a stab wound during an incident in his apartment late on Saturday night.
He died in University Hospital Waterford yesterday morning.
A post-mortem examination was completed yesterday but gardaí are not releasing the results for operational reasons.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau carried out a forensic examination at the scene of the stabbing on the fourth storey of an apartment block on the North Quay in Carrick-on-Suir.
Gardaí have also been conducting door-to-door inquiries in the area.
