Storm Brendan brought gusts of over 130km/h to parts of the country, causing widespread power cuts, downed trees and localised flooding across the country.
The damage is mainly due to fallen trees on overhead lines because of the high winds.
The number of homes and businesses without power peaked at 48,000 at 2pm yesterday.
