A man in his 30s is in a critical condition following a shooting in Co Waterford.
The man was shot a number of times at around 2.15pm outside a premises near the Mount Suir Apartments on Carrickphierish Road.
He was taken to University Hospital Waterford where his condition is described as critical.
The scene is currently sealed off for examination and the road is closed with diversions in place.
An appeal for information has been issued, and gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area between 1pm and 2.30pm. They are also appealing for motorists with camera footage from the area to come forward.
