King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden has laid a wreath at the Garden of Remembrance to honour all those who died for Irish Freedom.
His visit to the Garden of Remembrance follows a meeting with President Michael D Higgins at Arás an Uachtarán.
The King is accompanied by Queen Silvia and the Swedish delegation includes Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström and Minister for Energy and Digital Anders Ygeman.
Children from St Brigid's Girls National School in Palmerstown were among those who greeted the visitors at the Arás.
