The Law Society is to apply for orders freezing the personal accounts of suspended solicitor, Declan O'Callaghan along with the accounts of the practice in Co Roscommon he used to operate on Friday.
The High Court heard the society is concerned the deficit on the client account of the Kilraine O'Callaghan practice at Pound Street in Ballaghderreen, is now more than €730,000.
It says there is a clear and present danger to clients and the public if it continues to operate with such a deficit.
Mr Justice Peter Kelly said the situation had become "even more serious".
He gave permission to the Law Society to have the matter heard at short notice on Friday.
Barrister, Nessa Bird, on behalf of the society, said there was concern the deficit was around €730,000 not €500,000 as previously anticipated.
Last July, Mr O'Callaghan agreed to several orders including not to practise as a solicitor pending the outcome of an inquiry by the Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal into his conduct.
The court heard he has previously paid around €400,000 to address concerns in relation to the estates of two clients, including a child whose father died in an accident.
