Last minute campaigning has continued in earnest around the country with most of the candidates in the Presidential Election on the campaign trail on the final day before the country votes.

All six candidates have called on the electorate to use their vote.

Voters will also be asked tomorrow if they want to retain or remove the article in the Constitution that makes blasphemy an offence.  

Sinn Féin candidate Liadh Ní Riada, was on the stump in Ballyvorney in west Cork this morning making her final pitch to get elected to the Áras.

Independent candidate Seán Gallagher was in Dublin, saying if voters think it is time for change, then they should vote for him.

Gavin Duffy, another Independent candidate, said he appealed to the public to exercise their vote, and go to the polls.

Independent candidate Peter Casey plans a whistlestop tour from Dublin to Donegal today, campaigning as he returns to his home in Greencastle.

Independent candidate Joan Freeman said the format of the election debates has to change, as people are supposed to be voting for a President, not who can be humiliated the most.

The incumbent, Michael D Higgins, was not campaigning on the streets today. But yesterday he appealed to voters to cast their ballots in order to give a significant mandate to the next President.

The Prseidential Election broadcasting moratorium will begin at 2pm today.

The polls open at 7am tomorrow and will close at 10pm.

An RTÉ commissioned exit poll will be revealed once the polls close tomorrow night.
