A 34-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Amanda Carroll in Dublin at the weekend.
Sean Nolan, with an address at Ashington Crescent, Navan Road in Dublin, is accused of the murder of Ms Carroll at her home in Cabra.
The body of the 33-year-old was found in her apartment by a relative at the Homestead Court complex in Cabra at around 2.30pm on Sunday.
A post-mortem examination showed that she died from strangulation.
Ms Carroll was the mother of two sons, aged five and 16.
In the short hearing this morning, Detective Inspector Aidan Flanagan said that when the charge was put to Mr Nolan "he made no reply".
Legal aid was granted to Mr Nolan and he was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on 30 October.
