The Road Safety Authority is asking road users to exercise caution while using the roads tomorrow due to the storm.
It advised people to check local weather and traffic conditions and be aware of the conditions before setting out on a trip.
The Office of Public Works has closed some of its public sites in areas where the wind warnings will be in place.
The sites closed include Skellig Micheal, the Battle of the Boyne site and St Audeon's Church.
Very strong winds and heavy rain will reach Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland during Wednesday. @MetEireann and @metoffice have just jointly named this system "Storm Ali". Warnings will be updated later this morning. #StormAli pic.twitter.com/UIBCl5vmcw

The RSA has the following advice for road users:
- Beware of objects being blown out onto the road. Expect the unexpected.
- Watch out for falling/fallen debris on the road and vehicles veering across the road
- Control of a vehicle may be affected by strong cross winds. High sided vehicles and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to strong winds
- Allow extra space between you and vulnerable road users such as cyclists and motorcyclists
- Drive with dipped headlights at all times
Advice to pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists:
- Be seen. Wear bright clothing with reflective armbands or a reflective belt.
- Take extra care when crossing the road or cycling in extremely windy conditions as a sudden gust of wind could blow you into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Due to the Status Orange Weather Warning issued by @MetEireann some OPW Heritage sites will be closed Wednesday September 19th. Should there be an improvement in the weather we will endeavour to open earlier. We apologise for any inconvenience caused https://t.co/2Jp7SbXOvT pic.twitter.com/5LiytYhlD5
