The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed it is providing consular assistance to the family of a young Irishman who has died in a road collision in Texas.
The man, who was in his early 20s, was pronounced dead after being struck by a lorry in the early hours of Friday morning, local time, in Austin.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said it is aware of the case and is liaising with the family.
It is believed the young man was from Dublin and was on holiday with friends at the time.
