A second boy has been charged with the murder of Anastasia Kriégel in May.
The 13-year-old boy appeared before the Children's Court this morning.
The body of the 14-year-old schoolgirl was found in a derelict farmhouse in Lucan on 16 May, two days after she went missing.
She had been beaten to death.
The boy appeared before Judge John O'Connor and was accompanied by his mother.
Detective Sergeant Damien Gannon from Lucan Garda Station said he arrested the boy at 8.15am this morning and he was arrested and later charged at the station in the presence of his mother.
The boy made no reply to the charge and was remanded in custody to the Oberstown detention centre to appear in court again on 18 July.
Judge O'Connor said that due to the nature of the charge the Children's Court did not have jurisdiction to rule on the issue of bail.
Legal aid was granted.
Another 13-year-old boy has already been charged with her murder. He is due to appear again at the Children's Court on 23 July.
