The father of a young Irishman missing in the Netherlands since last month has arrived in Maastricht to carry out searches for his son.
Michael Power travelled from Waterford to the Dutch town to seek any information about his son John, who has been missing since 9 June.
He was met at the airport by a garda who is based in the Netherlands and who liaises through Interpol with police forces throughout Europe.
Yesterday, Michael Power spoke on RTÉ’s Liveline about frustrations with trying to access information in the Netherlands and Germany about his son's case.
John Power, 20, had reportedly said he intended travelling to Berlin, but the last reported sighting of him was in Maastricht.
John had worked in a call centre, but had left that job and was planning to work as a DJ.
His father said he intended to walk around specific parts of Maastricht with a photograph of his son as he appealed for anyone with information to help.
