The Olympia Theatre in Dublin has announced that comedian and radio and TV presenter Al Porter is to stand aside from his role in this year's Pantomime, Polly and the Beanstalk.
A statement from Pat Egan Management and Spotlight productions said "due to recent developments" a replacement star will be announced shortly.
Yesterday, Porter resigned from hosting his daily Today FM radio show.
His resignation followed allegations of inappropriate behaviour published online and in some newspapers.
In a statement yesterday, Mr Porter said he had been completely taken aback by the weekend's reports and that while his conduct, which had been in keeping with his "flamboyant and outrageous public persona", may have been regarded as offensive and unacceptable by many people, he had at no time intended to upset anyone.
He said he had been unaware of complaints or the impact of his conduct and that he was truly sorry for any distress he might have caused in what he had regarded as light-hearted and good-natured circumstances.
He said he could not comment on specific allegations due to legal advice, but nonetheless sincerely apologised to anyone he may have genuinely offended.
Meanwhile, RTÉ has said it is investigating the circumstances under which a tweet was sent from an official RTÉ account to one of the men who had made an allegation of inappropriate behaviour against Al Porter.
The tweet was sent from the RTÉ One account and deleted shortly after.
RTÉ One then tweeted an apology to the man. A spokesperson for RTÉ said the matter is being investigated.
