The Construction Industry Federation is in conciliation talks with members of the Unite trade union at the Workplace Relations Commission in an attempt to resolve the ongoing pay dispute with crane drivers.
The dispute caused widespread disruption to several large-scale construction projects over the summer.
SIPTU, who have been engaged in a bitter inter-union row with Unite over the alleged poaching of members, is also at the WRC as an interested party.
SIPTU has already agreed a payment with the CIF of two hours 'greasing time' per day for crane drivers along with the industry-wide Sectoral Employment Order, which will increase pay by 10% once legislated for.
Unite is seeking a staggered series of pay hikes which would increase hourly rates for crane operators to €30 per hour by 2019.
The talks are ongoing.
