Human remains uncovered at Dundalk house

Gardaí have confirmed that human remains have been found at a site in Dundalk, Co Louth.

Mary’s Street North was cordoned off this evening after builders uncovered the remains at the rear of a house.

Preliminary examinations were carried out by a forensic anthropologist.

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and the scene was preserved.

Construction workers contacted gardaí shortly before 5pm.
